On Saturday, SVTOA/Seattle held its first annual dyno day at Marysville Speed & Custom. EJ (myfordsfly) came out of “retirement” to operate the dyno, since he had committed to us for this event a few months before he left the company. We had a total of 14 cars out and all had a great time. This was the first time on a dyno for most of us and we learned a lot. My 93, which I did a bunch of work on over the fall, dyno’d out at 257 rwhp through the stock AOD slushbox, which works out to just over 340 at the crank. Very satisfactory in my book. My wife’s Cobra, which I just installed a Kenne Bell on, didn’t fare quite as well as I’d hoped. EJ shut it down at 337 rwhp due to detonation problems. It’s going in to Brad’s next Saturday for a larger fuel pump and some diagnosis. We had several Terminators on the rollers. The lowest was a bone stock 6,000 mile car that turned 385! The highest was Shadowfist’s dad’s 04 that laid down 427 at the wheels! Some kind of factory freak apparently. We had another stocker that hit 402 and one with a cat-back that put out 412. Terminators seem to be drastically underrated by Ford.

All in all, it was a great, fun day to play with cars. The Club bought lunch for everybody and we were there for about 6 hours altogether. After the dyno runs, EJ took me for a ride in his car. OMFG! I now have a new definition of “fast”. Did the front wheels come off the ground? Dunno, but now I have to start saving for a TT set-up. :D

Marysville Speed and Custom was a great host. EJ is a stand-up guy. I love Mustangs. What more can I say?

Is it summer yet?

How did I miss this!

You're not a member of the club!

If you're interested in joining, PM me and I'll get you the details. So far, the upcoming events for this year will be our show at Bickford on April 29th, a road trip to Vancouver Island May 26th & 27th for a show in Parksville BC and a day trip over the North Cascades Highway on a date to be determined later in the summer. We also do an annual road trip to the show at the Columbia Crest Winery near Prosser the first weekend of October and are hoping to do a weekend meet with the Tri-Cities chapter again this year. Last year it was at Ocean Shores and the year before in Leavenworth.

I would like to add my thanks to all the guys that were out working on a saturday to put this on for the club. All were very friendly and helpful, giving advice and thoughts to each owner as the car was being dynoed. I was also a little disapointed in that my car was to lean to make a full pull, but am happy with the numbers I got up to 4400 rpm. I know with the BAP hooked up and enough fuel I should safely be in the 400 rwhp club now, and with over 350 ft-lbs from 2800 rpm and up street driving is always entertaining.:nice: No wonder the 335's never hook up.

Don't forget that the club still has a go-kart event in the planning for the near future as well.

Much thanks to MSC! Although my car was running very lean (check out the SVT Tech section for info), EJ was quick to suggest cleaning the MAF and changing out an old Fuel Filter. Although that was not the fix, they changed my fuel filter for me for FREE without any complaints!

And referencing the 427 terminator, as far as we know the car is completely stock. EJ verified that the intake and exhaust were stock (down to the paper filter), and also checked to see if it was pullied (it wasn't). He suggested that the car may have been tuned, but the low torque levels confused them (427rwhp and 390 rwtq). I hope to be able to get a tuner and verify if the tune is stock or modified. Either way, 427 is an unheard of number for a (near) stock Cobra! So far, it has convinced my dad to try and 'upgrade' the car to see how it will pull with an intake and exhaust setup... I would love to see this car stack up against a GT500. Can anyone say 500 Crank HP from a stock Terminator?

The only problem with Saturday was that I left my video tapes and spare battery down there on their counter, so I am missing the first 10 car's dyno pulls until I can get them back.

The good thing about the club is that if you have a suggestion for an activity, they won't have any problems about seeing if they want to make it a club activity. Creativity is welcomed!

I hope you'll race with the Ford Drag Team instead of just doing TnT. You'll get more passes and a little competiiton for the greater good.
