I have been kicking a few different fuel system around lately and need some expert :SNSign: help.
The first system is the typical termi tank with twin GT 315lph pump and modded FPDM, or two. Now the problem is that the cobra tanks are getting expensive and when you add in the modded FPDMs or two with new pumps the price getts pretty high. I have yet to find a cobra tank for less the $700 and thats just the tank. I did find one with GT pumps in it already for $800 or so but the guy wouldnt sell it to me because I am not currently in the U.S. (long story dont ask). But I have yet to even find one for sale lately let alone one for a good price.
The other system is a glenns performance sleeper tank. I planned on getting the 1000hp twin walbro system. for a 99-04 the kit cost about $1450 which is on par price wise with the termi system I have invisioned. I do have some questions about this system however. 1 How suitable is this system for a weekend warrior/driven on a road course a few times a year car? Mind you this is acutally a sumped tank. 2 Is a sumped tank a good idea for a car that turns corners (MM suspension oh yeah)? I know NOTHING about sumped tanks and untill looking at the website I thought they were only for Drag cars. 3 how will this system work with my car? What is involved in swaping from a returnless to a return system other the the return line?
I dont want to run a 315lph GT pump with a KB boost a pump like some have suggested to me due to the fact that I am concerned with running the basket dry when the fuel level gets on the low side and I also want a baffled system of some kind for turning corners because even though I will only be on a track of some kind a few times a year I still like to push my car on some of the twisty back roads around my area and dont want to worry about my fuel level. I also plan on using my stang as something to take on cruises and trips and dont want to have to fill up constantly.
Help me decide and any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.
