Yeah, me too John.. The weather looks ok right now.. So.. Maybe it will hold off.. Are ppl. going to go to XXX or BM?

There is always something going on at the BM so I might just go there.. Although I guess I can goto the XXX first and then cruise to BM... Or maybe I'll just stay home and save my gas.

Not sure if anyone is going to show, but I plan on cruising by to see what's going on. My little one (2yrs) is navigating so I wont be able to go carting although I think that is a great idea...especially when it turns rainy.

//Rant

Just the kind of thing that makes me NOT want to go somewhere.

I've done my fair share of stupid things and seen plenty of them done too. I've also seen people not get lucky and lose huge investments as well as hurt and kill people (including themselves).

I don't care to be any place where people are intentionally tempting fate with stupidity. I'll stick to the track for my racing, and if you guys figure out a place to actually "cruise," then maybe I'll show up.

//End Rant

You don't even know what Andy is talking about. So your RANT needs to be somewhere else. It had nothing to do with what we were doing.

it worked out fairly well last night... but we need to do stuff earlier, not wait around for 2 hours... for people and stuff... it was dark before we went anywhere, and half the people had already gone home...

It was a RANT, not an attack on someone. So you can go take your comments somewhere else.

What I'm speaking from is personal experience -- not aimed at one night or one person -- it's aimed at everything I've seen since I've gotten here. Coming from a part of the country that probably has more fast cars, cruising, and street racing than any other -- I've seen plenty of the same types of things -- only on a much larger scale. I used to think street racing and screwing around on the streets was great, and I was safe about it too (or so I thought). And near misses I had were no big deal. Until you start losing people you know, and seeing people go to jail, and seeing people do things they normally wouldn't just because they're with a group of guys who have fast cars and feel like they need to prove something. Then one day it kind of hits you...

On top of all of this, you could see the Police clamp down on an entire area in the blink of an eye. You don't know how lucky you really are right now to have these places to go -- and having rules and/or Police presence at some places -- that's the best part. You don't have to worry about anyone else screwing up your good time.

Trust me when I say that I have the best intentions, and would like to see the community grow around here similar to how it is in other parts of the country, but if things continue the way I've seen them so far, it won't happen.

I'll continue to show up for meets (I would have been at this place if anyone could get me good directions or an address), and make suggestions like I have in the past, but so far there aren't alot of people interested in real organization and planning, etc. That's something that would really liven things up, and you'd start to see more and more people. And once you get to that point, you can start to do things like rent a racetrack for a day and have everyone go and run flat out -- but do it safely, or do other things as a group, and actually have fun without worrying about anything. You can do things that you never would have been able to as just a "bunch of people" or just a single individual. Plus you get to save money, improve your car/skills, meet new people, and have fun hanging out. It just takes a little effort, and the willingness to give up things like driving 100MPH through traffic and construction zones trying to beat your buddy to the beach -- not hard to live without.

Anyway, my high horse is done now, but just maybe this will inspire some change? or at least some curiosity in how it could be different?
