We have a conversion to do !
A pretty decent 65 coupe to be
converted to a fast back ,Jorge drove all the way from Colorado ,that had to be one long drive !
He brought all the parts for the conversion . I should be starting tuesday .

Ah, I've driven my 69 to and from Colorado many a time without issue without a sleepover. Is bbetto staying in Cali while the work is being done? bbetto picked the right guy to do the job.

Yeah, he's sitting in the waiting room having a cup of coffee. This whole thing should be wrapped up by lunchtime.

Its a pretty solid and straight car ,the doors fit great so quarter alignment will not be a problem .
The only thing i see is the floors and some of the trunk has been coated with tar ,a bit of scrapping and hit it with the big blaster and it should be clean as new .
Got a bit side tracked today but i did get the trunk lid ,rear bumper and quarter extensions off .
, gas tank has to come out because BOOM ! and we dont want that !

Got it cut apart today . A good couple of days to trim it out .
Both wheel tubs have to be replaced and both trunk drop offs also .
Passenger quarter had a surprise ,it was stuffed with aluminum foil and siliconed in place and bondod from the out side . The patch panels made it in yesterday but the tail panel didnt . I have one that is for one of my cars so i may use it instead of waiting for the new one .

Yeah, if I knew about body work, I might be dangerous.

I'm about to do mesh, some kind of putty that looks JB Weld with a green tint, and bondo for my rocker panels.

You know... The kind of thing that drives folks like you Nucking Futs

I dont think i have ever seen this before ,the wheel tub is rusted loose from the trunk floor on both sides ,floors are still solid but the flange the tub attaches to is gone . Going to have to make new flanges on both sides .

The rest of the roof is trimmed away and so is the old drip rail ,this will get sand blasted and primer before new pieces go on . Rear door post will be trimmed next then i have some patch work to do before any new panels

It looks like we are going to have to replace both trunk floors ,just to much rust to try to patch .
I got the rear door posts trimmed ,going to pick up some sand a blast the areas and primer before any new metal goes on . I still have to finnish trimming the rest of the tail panel but i will have that done today

That was fun ! 18 gage sheet metal held in with flat blade screws ,the screws heads broke off and the sheet metal was glued in with tar ,going to be fun removing the tar but other than a few rust holes in the original floor pans it shouldnt be to much trouble .now i need to pick up some sand and blast a few areas and prime them
