I am making my second trip to the track Saturday night. It is a 1000' strip. I bought my bone stock 02 GT about year and a 1/2 ago and went to the track to see what it would do. I was a little dissapointed as I constantly ran between 12.2 and 12.5. Come to find out a couple of weeks later my whole transmission was bad (cluster bearings). My thinking is the transmission was probaly going out, so the car couldn't have been running it's best? Since then I have had a new transmission installed and a stage 2 racing clutch-pressure plate also. The car is at the shop having 3.73s installed right now. In everyone's opinion was a 12.2 a bad time? My goal is to run in the mid to high 11's. Is it possible or am I shooting too high? Thanks ahead of time for everyone's help! I will post my timeslips sometime Sunday.

Read his post again. It was a 1000 foot track, not a 1/4 mile.

It's one thing after another. My clutch had been acting real funny, clicking noises, self adjusting itself, real strange stuff. So when I got the gears installed I had it checked out. It's shot already. The guy told me I bought the worst clutch on the market-SPEC (just an opinion). This is coming from a performance shop. He said one of the fingers (springs) was bent on the clutch plate. I hope I am saying that right. I get a little turned around sometimes on these things. Anyway, I ordered a new King Cobra clutch and it will be in Wed. Needless to say I didn't get to run at the track. But, even with a bad clutch the car felt really good. I will head to the track after I get my new clutch installed and broke in. I was probaly doomed from the start as I paid a guy $150 bucks to install my transmission and clutch. He could have screwed up the install. You get what you pay for.

I think a high 11 wouldn't be hard at all to get to. Weather and altitude also have a lot to do with times.
