Its just a shot of everything mocked into place, final adjustments and fastening/bracing havent been done yet, but this is roughly what is going to look like. I am really happy with it and cant wait to get it all covered in nice black carpet. I'll post pics when its all done What do you guys think so far?

I think all that plywood is a lot heavier than a rear seat. Soooo... what's the point??

It will look nice. + leaves LOTS of options for interior custom work...BUT I think hes right. You not really saving any weight. Either way looks great, good job

Yes....plywood is not the material for this project. Go and get yourself either some lexan or masonite board, unless you're crafty enough to make it all in fiberglass.

maybe i am part of the 1% of mustang owners that doesnt fuss over every pound of weight saved or gained...its not even all that heavy anyway. its only 3/8" plywood. there is no insulation or sound deadening left in there so i figure i just about broke even. I also do actually use my car to carry things from time to time...the material and structure has to be durable enough to support whatever it is i may have to put back there. granted its not that often nor are the items very big or heavy, but god forbid a time comes when i need to put something back there and cant because it will damage my custom stuff...

there are 3 main reasons i am doing this:
1) I HATE having people in the back seat of my car
2) my stock seats are pretty beat so I want to upgrade to Corbeaus, and the back seat wouldnt match
3) I like the way it looks.

funny...scott (raceoholic330) used plywood for his and no one said boo...

I Like it, i planned something kinda like this for my subs,Kinda poor man's sub box tho, planning on taking out the bottom seat, and making some kinda box for storage, and covering in carpet... heres the sub Pic + dirty back seat (hence the need for a box)

What about when Joe paid like $1400 for a shop to 'hook up' his interior and totally half-assed it? That thread went on for about 4 pages of laughter.

Heck man i didn't mean to be bustin your balls, i was just pointing out things as i saw'em. It does look great and i'm sure it'll rock once it gets carpeted. I guess i'm just more interested in making my car faster than looking good (which explains why it's still primered )

I agree, sorry for busting your balls. You did do a very good job, and I think it'll look sick once it's carpeted, I just didn't see why you would use such a heavy material, but it will add more support for when you haul stuff. And, if anyone HAS to sit back there someday, it will support their weight. I think you should put something back there to break up the space a bit, like a bottle or something.

Looks amazing, and should look even better. Plus your the 1% thats not trying to watch there womanly figure Also I am going to go with the after market seats, and i wouldn't be able to stand the back seats not following the same pattern/color as the front seats so i plan on doing the same thing.

+1 for keeping it practical
