A Pillar 2 Gauge Pod Install

I've recently ordered an Autometer gauge pod and am looking for some install insights. Since a convertible full A Pillar pod is no longer available I was wondering if anyone has used something other than self adhesive tape such as trim panel retainers, screws and/or pop rivits to fasten the pod to the existing A pillar trim . Additionally, any info on wiring would be appreciated. For example, does it make sense to pull the instrument cluster for easier access. Wiring instructions for both the Fuel pressure and Boost gauge call for a connection to the ignition switch 12v, accessory and parking light although it occurs to me that a tap into the dash illunination circuit might make more sense since it can be dimmed. Does removing the cluster also allow for easier access into engine bay. Today I completed the install of the mechanical components . The fuel pressure sending unit was attached to the fuel rail where the schrader valve was and the boost sending unit was mounted on the cowl with the tubing coming from the boost side of the intake.

Trying not to reinvent the wheel if can help it .

That sounds easy enough. Just have to wait for the pod to arrive.
