A-pillar outer trim removal on 02 pony???

Does anyone know how to remove the outside body trim that runs up the a-pillar and stops over the door??? It's driving me nuts! I bought the car used and noticed the trim it not securely mounted to the car. Some of the clips are busted and it rattles when driving. Any ideas would help!!

Are you asking about the "door sill?"

Not quite sure if I understood your question completely, but you could take a look at the following installation guide for A-pillar gauges & see if the instructions might help you resolve your situation:

No, the outer piece of trim that is over the door. The painted part of the body that goes from the cowl and meets up with another piece of exterior trim over the rear quarter windows. Any ideas????

You mean, what I would call, the aerodynamic "rain gutters"???

it is only held on by the metal retaining clips...just pry gently..VERY gently all around it and it should come off...it came off for me, i dont know how stubborn yours will be

Actuall the Tirm peice is held on by clips and bolts. Here are the steps from the Service manual.


1. Remove the weatherstrip.

2. Remove the exterior roof side moulding screws.

3. Remove the interior roof side moulding screws.

4. Remove the roof side moulding nut.

5. Release the clips.

1 Lift up to release the two clips.

2 Note:
Grasp the roof side moulding and lift up to release the money clip.

Remove the money clip.

6. Remove the upper quarter trim panel. For additional information, refer to «Section 501-05».

7. Remove the nuts and the roof side Quarter moulding.
