Ok one of my very good long time freinds works for ford, and said he would give me a PIN to get a new stang. Said he could get me a D-Plan, but I was under the impression you HAD to be a direct relative.

So what does Ford or the Dealer check when people use these plans?

I know I could probably get an X-plan w/o a problem. What is the difference between and D and X plan?

Ford checks ID and validates PINs (PINs need SS numbers too). Ford has even gotten tighter since I got mine two years ago. For example, back then, proof of employer (for supplier x-plan) could be done with a business card. Not any longer.

D plan is for dealer employees. I don't see how he could give you a D plan.

X plan would be the appropriate plan for a friend or extended relative of a Ford employee.

People have said that you need some proof of qualification when you use your PIN.

What kind of proof are they going to ask for?

Would I be able to pass as a brother-in-law?

I believe that the only problem would come if they found out. I am sure at a minimum, the employee who claimed you were their brother-in-law would get fired.
