A Problem

When I slam on the brakes, my emergency brake light comes on. Could someone explain why this is happening?

On some cars this can mean a fault in the pressure differential switch (a junction that modulates brake pressure between the front and rear systems) but I don't know how the Mustang is set up; this is just the way it was on some of my other vehicles.
