Symptoms:

No Head Lights.
No Tail Lights.
No Brake Lights.
Cannot take shifter out of park.
No gauge lights.
When you pull the light switch it flashes for a split second.
Alternator not charging battery.

Resolutions:
Checked all power going to and from the fuse block.
Checked all fuses under hood and dash.

Need your input guys...

I have the Starter and alt tied down to one power wire, then this 10 inch wire goes to to fuse block on top of the battery cable. All grounds were relocated to the under body, wire wheeled clean and self tapped in solid. No other wires were spliced, just relocated when i put the new engine in. Anything is possible... looking for avenues to pursue.

get a 4 guage wire and connect it to the negative battery post and then keep moving it around on different spots on the engine to see if this helps anything... if it does.. you have a ground issue.

The headlight switch harness was cooked, and the part that plugged into the firewall from the fues box was never tightened down (wooopseee) lol.

Things i did, new alt, new fuesbox and full harness to all headlights, replace headlight switch and harness....

Fireing it up soon... hope she works!

Seen this before. Pull the green colored ring terminal grounds on the upper radiator support next to the battery area. Should be a few of them. Once removed sand the terminals clean and also the metal around the screw on the upper radiator support. Happens a lot. These are the key grounds in the system.

well everything works now except the damn charging system, i have changed 2 alternators and checked the voltage at 12.5 on the power feed, i found the yellow wire off the alt that goes to the fuse box to be broken, so i repaired it... changed the fuse in the engine fuse box out with a new one.

I dont know what else to check, im at a loss and going to killmyself... 6 month project and it just wont fing work for me...

So i have the step by step ford service technician software for our cars to diagnose and test everything... I ruled out that one alt is in fact bad. The second one i installed passes all tests....

Things i haven't changed are the power line from the use box to the alt, but i read equal to battery voltage... 12.5 now there is a fuse in the line, but it the fuse was bad i'm pretty sure i shouldn't have any voltage coming through.

Diagnostics for the alt have been thoroughly posted in here before.

Very briefly, at the reg, A reads battery voltage, I reads nominal voltage, and S reads about 1/2 battery voltage.

i know what the issue is.... the new alt is powder coated... my brackets have been primed and painted, there is no way the alt is being grounded through the engine.

And i'll be damned if i'm going to pull everything out and grind it down, way too much work... i'm going to wire wheel the bracket at all the spots it connects and just put a new ground from the alt and bracket bolt... then run it to a fresh spot on the frame!

I checked all fuses too and they are fine, it has to be this!

it might be happy turkey day after all!

the battery was moved to the trunk, that has happened to me about 2 years ago, car didnt want to start because those little guys were so corroded.

right now that alt has nothing to ground to... ill fix that later, now my friend is staying away from powder coating anything on his mustang!

so i got everything charging again :)

ran a ground from the alt bolt to bracket after wire wheeling the crap out of the joining pieces.. had a extra 4 gauge so i slapped it on there, held volt meeter to the case of the alt, and the power source. Everything was good, 12.xx volt.

The ground that i have running from the engine to the frame is not actually grounding the block... where is a good place to run a new ground?
