I have a 87 AOD GT with speed density...
This week I plan on installing the Interactive Technologies mass air conversion harness. I have both, an A9L and A9P computers, my question is, which one should I use?
Thanks, Mike

I thought I read somewhere that the A9L worked for 5spd or auto?

no, A9P (auto puter) can work in a 5 spd or auto. the A9P is preferable because it has marginally better curves (which is why some 5 spd guys run it).

good luck.

I've always thought A9L was the better of the two as well... Should I just try both and see which one makes the car perform the best?

If one looks at the timing tables of the A9P, it is more favorable than the A9L, as I recall (though not as good as the A9M).

I would run the A9P. Thats what I did when I did my T-5 swap as well. I had both to try and the A9P seemed a little better so thats what I kept in it.

I still have the A9L if anyone needs one. PM me.

I have the A9p in my car and i have a twEECer. Personally, i would just run the A9l rather than have to change the auto settings. It does some interesting things with the idle when coming to a stop out of gear.

Manual Computers do not work with automatic cars. Automatic computers work in the manuals the A9P has better timing and fuel curves which is why 5spd guys use them. Don't put the A9L in an auto.
