Hi guys, I tried searching but didn't yield anything in the first page and I have to get out of here soon. I was wondering... I'd like to buy one of the polished cobra intakes at summit, the ones for the 93 and below cars. I heard someone say that i'd have to use an adapter for my throttle body to work on it. First of all does anyone know where to get this adapter, and if I do it that way can I use my existing CAI... I guess i'm asking would this still be in the stock location. So I wouldn't have to rig up my own CAI. Would it be worth it to just find a '94-'95 cobra intake? Thanks for the help guys.

the adaptor will only work with the explorer intake or aftermatket intakes. if you want to use the 93 cobra intake you need a fox tb set up.

As some of the guys mentioned the Fox TB conversion would be best if you're using the 93 intake. One guy here did get the elbow adapter to work with the 93 cobra intake but he had to drill the bolt holes to line them up and had to get creative with his intake tubing (just like I did with the 93 Fox conversion) since there is the built in EGR spacer which throws off your positioning slightly. I did the conversion with the 93 intake and love it. Otherwise just get an SN cobra intake and polish it or if you're not concerned about looks the explorer intake is just as good.

I was also reading something that getting a bigger throttle body on our Sn95s wouldn't help at all because of the built in EGR spacer. Maybee it would be worthwhile to get a fox throttle body anyway. I'll just modify my existing CAI, I did it on my old car anyway. I'll research a little more into the situation, thanks guys.

SN95 adapter elbows are generally 70mm except for the TFS elbow which is a 75mm opening. The 93 Cobra opening is 70mm, but I'm not sure of the SN95 cobra intake opening. Beyond 70mm, some port matching between the intake and the TB is required. If you need a pic of a modified CAI for a Fox setup email me and I'll send you a pic.

Fox body intake for SN95

There is an adapter you can find at summitracing.com In the search box, I typed in throttle body adapter and it showed up. However, your other questions I echo. I am in the same place and wanted to know how much more of a pain it would be. I know the adapter sells for 120 on summit. It says its for GT-40, but I read somewhere that it would also fit cobra intakes. I didn't know if it was worth it to use that intake or not. Sorry I can't answer that question, but I will be looking for an answer as well.
