So over the weekend I ran over a manhole that was very deceptive and was sticking up much higher than it seemed and smashed the hell outta my chassis brace, ill attach a couple pics...

My question is, what replacement do yall recommend? Just another stock one or the tubular one? I like that the stock one has a built in skid plate to protect the oil pan but my 96 is a convertible and I need to stiffen up my chassis as much as possible anyway...

And just a little FYI, I like the skid plate because my car is lowered with Roush springs...

Honestly.... Unless you spend a decent amount of time at the track, I'd just leave that one alone.

Even damaged, it's probably stronger than the best aftermarket piece. If you have other reasons for wanting the swap the k-member then I'd look for one that leaves the front wheels as near to the stock location as is possible.

I understand why you want a tubular setup, the stock peice is like it is because every efficient ongoings that your car kinetically rests on that engine staying still. You are to have to spend lot money for something that may or may not be as strong, even if the "right" company is involved. Modding is a risk. And that is a risky part to duplicate to be made better than stock, save your cash.

Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
