On the 96 you can go either way since we don't have bumper cut outs for our exhaust. I like the look of tail pipes coming out the rear but i may be going to dumps cause since i lowered my car and have 285/18's Space is tight underneath. And dumps do add some more sound. I don't think this will free up any HP.

Sound is really about the only difference, unless your not running mandrel bent pipes, which will get smaller along the bends, therefore reducing flow. I also personally think that tips look so much better on 94-98's, without them, they just look like 6ers.
