Well Im about to trade in my civic finnaly for my fox, and this is the scoop. The terms were that I was to trade my car for his as long as his fox was repainted black professionally. I said ok, but then I got some info from someone that some of the parts weren't installed on the car that should be. So there were a few parts but nothing drastic. Anyways, I plan on throwing a blower on the car and I was told that it was overbored by someone, and that the cylinder walls at 308ci would not be able to handle boost or nitrous. He said it was bored .040 over. Anyways here's the car:

1992 MUSTANG GT 5.0 5 speed
Head mods :

308ci
Comp cam lifters
Comp cams valve springs
Comp cam retainers

So what do you think? Any estimated on HP? Can it be boosted??? Thanks alot.

040 is kind of thin but not big of a deal. What matters is if the right setup is there. Make sure that the pistons are fore sure forged, that the crank is at least nodular iron, and there are some quality connecting rods. Also make sure the tolerances are tight and that it is a quality build job. Pretty much just make sure the quality is there, if so, throw the boost or nitrous at it as much as your heart desires (to a degree/limit of course though).

.04 over seems a little thin for me. I'd do what everyone else is saying and make sure that the quality of work is there and that this guy didn't learn to bore his motor on this one and thats why he wants to trade. When I bought my stang I almost bought one that had been ported to 351 until I found out that the guy did it himself (no big deal, lots of great do-it-yourselfers out there) and he'd gone through 2 previous engines. One he forgot to balance when he was done and the other he went to far and hit the water jacket. To make a long story short, make sure that the quality of work is there.
