Above and Beyond

The last few months, I have been somewhat disenchanted with my Mustang, it has had nothing but problems, nothing major, but a whole lot of minor headaches with the clutch, brakes, suspension, electric, etc etc etc. I have had the good fortune of having to go weeks on end without my car do to repairs, and this has taught me that i really Dont need the headaches the car delivers, not for the amount that i drive it, and i dont track it. Dont get me wrong, i love Mustangs, and will hate to see mine go, But for me it just isnt worth the cost anymore. I Went to LeFerriere racing months ago to have a longtube install done. About a week after it was done, i got hit pretty bad in a parking lot on a sweet spot, and while there was little structural damage, the frame docked some serious time on the frame machine. I have also encountered countless potholes, speedbumps, and bottomed out a million times due to the wonderful driveability of Boston roads. MY CAR TAKES A BEATING, as an in city daily driver. I am 100% sure that my driving, coupled with the Quality of parts (or lack thereof-MAC) is the sole reason why one of my headers was loose. ( I also had a clutch replaced, and that sure as hell could have done it, but i will never know for sure) IN NO WAY WERE MY PROBLEMS CAUSED BY ERIC'S INSTALL. He did an amazing job, and in an attempt to get my car back to me as quickly as possible since we had a Noreaster bearing down on us, waiting to drop 8 inches of snow on us, he did burn through part of the AC line. He offered to fix it then and there for obviously no cost, but I decided it would be best to get my but 50 miles home to massachusetts and not get stuck driving in the snow. Now i had no intention of getting it fixed, i never use the AC- i only drive when its nice out and if its nice, the top is down. But if i want to sell my car, it needs to be working, so i needed to get it fixed. I posted a few weeks ago, simply because i hadnt heard from anyone, and i have been out of the loop, and all i needed to know is if they were around, or if they were off at the races. If this was the case, fine, i just needed to know. ANYWAYS. Eric took me on wednesday and did an amazing job, he fixed the loose header, replaced the AC line, then when he went to put more Freon in the line, he came back with the determination to find a squeeking and rattling that he knew the car shouldnt be making. It turns out, part of my rear suspension that had been bolted and welded to the frame was COMPLETELY DETACHED and could have easily come into contact with the rear tire causing even more serious complications (ie blown out tire ->accident-> no more car) He backed my car into his garage and welded it on right then and there as a courtesy to me. He obviously cares about what he does, and goes ABOVE AND BEYOND what he is asked to do. I truly believe that he cares about every ford that drives into his shop as if it were his own. He looks at his work as not only a reflection of himself, but also as a reflection of Mustangs, and the pride that comes with it. He wants each Mustang that he puts his hands on, to be the best car that it can possibly be, and I consider myself lucky to have had someone so caring and talented work on my car. If I were keeping my mustang, i can guarantee that no one else besides Eric would ever work on my car.
