Well after a few near accidents in other people's cars and locking up the brakes far to often in my own car, Its time i dove into upgrading the fox brakes. I was going for the basick 94/95 spindles, 99+ calipers and disc rear.

I was just curious, is it at all possible to put ABS into a fox body? what would be needed? what model years should i look at? any write ups or tech articles on this type of thing? thanks alot!

i thought abotu doing the same as well.. you have to get the whole damn box and sensor setup.. as well as the wiring (i think).. i might tackle putting ABS on my car, just the only problem is where to mount the gigantic box for the abs control unit

I beleive you want to look for parts from a 94-98 Mustang as it's ABS is stand-alone

There are a few articles on the install, one in the Tech section of Corral: http://www.corral.net/tech/handling/abs.html

Also, stangplus2birds on here has ABS on his 86 and he answers questions on it sometimes. Here is some of his diagnostic info: http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/brakes/

I scored the complete ABS module, sensors and brake lines to the ABS unit from a local friend that was converting his 96 GT into a drag only car. Got it all for $60 I'll just need the ABS hubs and maybe swap him my non ABS axles for his and I should have all the hard parts for whenever I get a chance to attempt it.

I'll probably put it in the stock SN95 place since I have all the brake lines and I should be able to make them work. Just make sure you get all the bubble flare fittings to the unit so you don't have to find them and all the ABS unit wiring plugs and several inches on the chassis side of each wheel sensor plug if you don't get all the wiring.

Email or PM Stang&2birds. He has a working ABS system & some good info. His site is very familar to many of you.

See the following website for some help from Tmoss (diagram designer) & Stang&2Birds (website host) for help on 88-95 wiring http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/brakes/
