it might be the speed sensors not getting a correct reading since you have a smaller wheel

Are the tires the sam diameter front to back. I think youll get the ABS light if they are not due to the fact that the fronts are probably spinning faster than the rears.

bingo. i'd be willing to bet you're running a 27+" tire. stock is 26" & it won't (shouldn't) throw a code with the stock size on

Yup. It will sense the large difference in spin rates and light the light. It will disable the ABS until you turn off the car. When you turn on the car again, it starts off fresh again. You're good to go till you use the brakes to slow down.

If your front and rear wheels are spinning at different speeds it will set the light/code.

Reason it doesn't set the light off til highway speeds is because the faster you go, the larger the rotational descrepency is. The ABS systme shuts itself off if the front and rear wheels spin at a certain % difference.

What size tires are you running??

That will do it

Your front tire is 25.4" tall

Your back tire is 27"

The difference is too much.

Stock size is 25.7" so your back tire is too big. A 255/55/15 might be a better size to run.

Here's a good tire size calc to figure it out with. You need to keep similar heights int he front and rear to keep the ABS happy

I just bought some 285/40/17s for the back of my stang and 255/45/17s for the front, do you think this will screw up my ABS and throw a light?
