ABS light?!

Ok, So my ABS light is on, what could that be? I just replaced my front pads, the light came on a day or so before that , and it still comes on most of the time I drive my car... brake fluid looks good, new pads.. No ideA!? help!! haha thanks for any input, experiences..

my abs light has been coming on too. People have told me that it takes a special abs code reader that the dealer has to read those codes and that the handheld tuners wont do it. I found out my problem this weekend. A bent/cracked abs sensor.

I think thats what I could be dealing with.. did it make any noise for you spederman? because tonight I just noticed coasting into my driveway that theres definatly a clunking noise coming from one side that goes away mostly when I apply the brakes. only at that slow speed tho..

I had ABS light problem two months ago. The most common cause of ABS light seems to be bad wheel sensor. In my case though, it was bad HCU unit.
I have PC diagnostic program from www.obd-2.com. It can pull OBD2 and ABS codes.
In my case ABS light was intermittent. When I tried to pull the codes with the light on, my laptop didn't not communicate with HCU unit. When light was off, laptop connected fine to ABS, but there were no codes. There was one general OBD code pertaining to communication fault on the bus. I assumed it had something to do with my HCU. I did pin-point test from shop manual to rule out the wires and then replaced HCU. It fixed the problem
The good part: replacing HCU is easy.
The bad part: It is > $1000 at the dealer, but I got used one on ebay for $60 shipped :nice:

No, my brakes were working perfect, no noises or anything. I would just get the abs light that would kick on intermittently. It seemed to kick on every other time i drove my car.

I had the exact same thing happen last week. I took my 00' GT to the Lexus dealership where I bought it and they told me that their scanners could not read it. They ended up taking it to Ford, and it was a bad HCU. $1,200 for the new module! Best of all, Lexus paid for all of it and I was lent an 07' IS350 fully loaded for a week, free of charge!.... I had just bought the car the day before and Lexus has a 30 day warranty... hah.
