Ok, so I finsihed swaping the 7.5 out and the 8.8 in to my 99 v6 daily driver. The rear end I used was from a 95GT. I ended up needing new axles and bearings so I bought a set from superior and had the shop put the old tonerings and lugs onto the new superior axles. So after all my rear end modification and I've got EVERYTHING back together and think I'm done, I got to put the ABS sensor back in and the head of the sensor knocks against the tone ring. so even if I could bolt it down it would be ground to bits by the tone ring. I made sure there axles were made for abs, I called superior and asked them. It looks like there is enough space to press the tone ring further down. I talked to the shop that put the rear end together and they said to drive the car down monday and they would look at it.
For now, I've zip tied the abs sensors to the parking brake cables and they clear everything. Of course, my abs warning light is on. The questions are, should I pull my abs fuse until I get this fixed ? My brake pedal feels a bit funny now. Secondly, do I need to use an abs sensor from the 95GT or should I be using the abs sensor for my car ? Does anyone know if they are phyiscally different ? When I took the 95GT apart, they looked exactly the same.
