Ok, chasing down a leak in my ac system. The two lines that go into the compressor with the big nuts, do those have o rings or simply pressure fit? Thanks!

O-rings. Probably have a front seal leaking on the compressor. Feel for oil underneath the compressor just behind the pulley.

Right now checking for leaks is not really an option. Everything was coated in grime from the previous owner so I actually have all the accessories and brackets pulled along with the ac system To get cleaned/painted. I'm replacing all the o rings while I have it apart. The fittings on the compressor it's self, I think they are called manifold fittings. I know they have the 2 o rings between them and the compressor, but what kinda deal is used on the hoses? I don't see where a o ring would go.

There should be lips on both lines that plug into the compressor manifolds. The o-rings are in between that lip and the manifold.

Here is the oring kit for the compressor (front parts). Compressor Shaft Seal Kit

Can you take a picture to make sure we're referring to the same thing?

On top on the compressor.. The two lines that have the large nuts, one goes to the dryer, one goes to the condenser. What lips/rings/seals go there.

Not looking at the front of the compressor yet.

A rubber o-ring on each one. They slide on the lines that plug into that manifold you have pictured.

I'm wondering if that front seal is gonna be a issue. How hard is it to replace them? Couldn't find a video.

Not hard, but you'll need some special tools. Like these.

Amazon product ASIN B004KEFCPUView: http://www.amazon.com/Powerbuilt-648980-Conditioner-Clutch-Holding/dp/B004KEFCPU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451160244&sr=8-1&keywords=compressor+clutch+tool

Amazon product ASIN B00061SH6WView: http://www.amazon.com/Astro-Compressor-Clutch-Installer-Remover/dp/B00061SH6W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1451160295&sr=8-2&keywords=compressor+clutch+tool

Amazon product ASIN B000TG80SYView: http://www.amazon.com/Channellock-927-8-Inch-Retaining-Plier/dp/B000TG80SY/ref=sr_1_6?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1451160370&sr=1-6&keywords=snap+ring+pliers

You'll need to measure clutch to hub for correct gap, or at least check it.

If you're up to it, I'll post up measurements/torque specs.

At that point I'll just get a compressor . But I don't even know if that's a issue yet.

If you do, they're not all equal. The reman I bought leaked right after a year. It was also shimmed incorrectly. Costly/time consuming when you have to redo an ac system twice.

Do places still rebuild these? Maybe I could look into that.

Take it to an ac shop and get a few quotes. See how that compares to doing it yourself or taking chances with a reman. You need to replace the dryer and orfice line too. Plus a flush to cover your ass for warranty. Where are ypu located?

I'd let you borrow the tools, but shipping would eat up a bunch.
