I have some of the hi-temp Accel 8mm plug wires for my 302. They were the custom fit kind. Well, they are junk. When I was changing my plugs today, 3 of the wires pulled off with the inner metal cap still attached to the spark plug. And they do it every time and I'm sick of fixing them all the time. No matter how hard you clamp them around the plug wire, they still pop off. So, I am going to try some Tailors. (sp?)

Any of you guys had bad experienced with the custom fit Accels?

Yes, they pop off

I also used a set of custom fit once...just once. After that I went with MSD. The boots and terminals are attached very well. The ends that go into the dist are cut to length.

just use dielectric grease and youll be fine. I work for autozone and we try to sell the grease with every set of wires that we sell. people say it doesn't work but it really does. i havn't had any problems with my accel wires probably because i use dielectric grease on them. thanks

whenever I get a set of wires pre-made they always give me problems. Now I make my own-problem solved. I hate to think that I can crimp wires better than some expensive machine in a factory somewhere, but evidently I can. If you want it done right, you've got to do it yourself. Not to mention the pre-made sets always have wires that are way too long and hang/droop everywhere. I'd much rather do it myself and have them all the right length for a neat and tidy appearance.
