acceptable quality lacquer paint and primer?

I want to paint my mustang. I do not want to mix a two part enamel based paint. This is my first big paint job. I have an old truck I can use to practice on.

I would not use lacquer! Get yourself a good single stage or intergrated clear at best and read. Enamal is not hard to apply as you think. lacquer is easy to apply but you have to color sand and rub out to produce a shine. I did a Ranger in lacquer and although it laid good it is not durable and was a PITA to color sand and rub out. Never again, enamel for me.

Go with a urethane 2 part primer like Nason 2K Urethane. Buy some Dupont Sealer, Dupount paint and Nason clear. bc/cc.

I agree with the bc/cc the Omni line is made by ppg and I have had good luck with it in the past.
Not too expensive either..
