Hi all,
I'm ready to purchase an Accufab TB and all the research I did says for idle problems close idle screw completely?
Now I see Accufab has a throttle sensor for this problem.
They suggest - "Idle Control - Idle Speed can only be set by adjusting the Throttle Position Sensor. DO NOT adjust any screws on the Throttle Body. These screws are pre-set at the factory."

What's the deal?
Are they just trying to squeeze more money out of us or do we really need this sensor?
I'd hate to get the TB and then have to wait and get a sensor or should I just get the sensor with the TB??

Thanks in advance for any tips!!!

Hello,
I bought the Accufab T/B and I LOVE it.
As for the Idle control Issue I had the same problem and NO you don't need to buy Accufabs Sensor your factory one will do just fine!
Be sure to put it back on the way it came off though!
Also It will take a day or so for it to work itself back into postion via the computer controled throttle!
YES DON'T TOUCH ANY SCREWS on the New Or Old Body!
If you have any Q's please feel free to ask I had the same issues and ow I have them Fixed!

I believe if you adjust the "idle" screw that the computer will try to compensate anyhow and over ride it...

Yep he is right .
So Just Mount The new T/B on and swap the sensor and be done with it.
Give it a try.

I wrote an email to Accufab about their TPS, asking if it was the same as the factory Ford unit, and never heard back from them.

Just like the directions say, don't mess with the screw. No one from Accufab suggests to purchase another tps sensor because you already have one. Just swap it over, adjust the voltage to .98 and be on your way. The sensor that we have available is the same factory Ford piece and is generally only sold to someone who requests it.

The computer especially 03 and up will try and "learn and adapt to changes" so adjusting the screw not advisable.

Thanks

Accufab TB

If you have a late model GT the factory TB does not have any adjustment screw, closed off hole. Accufab was not aware of this in earlier production but I'm told corrected the issue. I had to close the idle adjustment screw on my Accufab TB and set the TPS. You will have to set your TPS to get everything to run correctly. If the TB comes with an adjustment screw port just be sure its turned all the way in. I've had mine on for almost a year and I love it. Good luck!
