I would think that those packages sound more in tune with road racing and not straight line racing. If it were me, I'd just go for Upper and Adjustable Lower (weight jacking) Control Arms, some decent Shocks/Struts and Springs, good ole T-Lok and Gears, maybe a GT sway bar, 15" light weight rims and some slicks. You might even want to get the Upper Control Arms that are adjustable or even put the quad shocks on from a GT and weld in some brackets to help reduce the axle from twisting off the line.

When the weight shifts to the back, you want your tires to plant themselves in the pavement. But once you get going the weight will shift forward again. Getting the correct rate springs will help keep the tires planted, but I can't tell you which rates would be best.

As far as who has the advantage, rear or front wheel, I don't see any difference at our level other than front wheel drive is ghey for racing.

well stock the manual v6 runs mid 15's with a 2.2 60ft~ so with a little better suspension you should be able to get 2.0~ thats good for nearly .4 off your times all by its self.... but you have to remember slicks wont help much other than off the line cuz you will bog down up top so its best to go to a good track with some good tires and practice till you can get in the 2.0 range. I used to have lift bar lower control arms (drag lower control arms by design) and i could launch amazing.... i could cut 1.9s if i pushed it hard enough, thats enough to cut quite a bit over stock 60ft times.

3.73 gears are good for 2.5 tenths~ in the quarter stock, with a tlok you should be able to get down to 2.1 so maybe 3 tenths or 4 depending on how bad you launch stock, the gears them self are good for 2.5 tenths~

coil overs have a bad reputation to create bind in the rear by their design.... so get a good brand (maximum motorsport) if you go that route but i wouldnt worry about more than lower control arms and drag springs until you have enough power to need any more.

with gears and a 2.0 60ft you can break into teh 14s.... but dont count on it if you are on street tires and an average driver expect 2.1 60s and 15.1s~
