Yep. You normally are jumping battery power friom the solenoid and the solenoid-trigger (just because they are right next to eachother).
FWIW, you should be able to jump battery power into the *starter relay* output (normally open) terminal. This relay is in the underhood fusebox (it's a slave to the piggyback solenoid). This is a lot easier to access.
The starter interlock wire is white/pink leading up to the fusebox starter relay as I recall. I cannot remember the color out of the relay's output wire however.
