Well my buddy of mine found a 2000 GT for sale. We checked it out today and it doesnt have cruise control which is something that he uses regularly and would like to put it on the car.

Whats the easiest way to do so? It looked like the cable that runs from the TB to the firewall was still there. Do we just need to add the buttons and thats it?

Thanks

Pretty sure cruise control was standard on GT's for that year.

Was the car in an accident? Something suggests to me the wheel was replaced for some reason with a V6 wheel.

I bet if he installed a wheel with the CC switches on it would prob work.

EDIT: Is his a GT deluxe that came factory with the 16" wheels and 117MPH speed limiter?

The only accident he said the car was in was a little fender bender. When we went on NADA to get the value it says w/o cruise control, so that makes me believe that it was still an option

And the car has the 17" rims.

Heres pictures of the outside

NADA says the same thing for my car...but it was a standard option

I just checked a few model-specific brouchures i have. The only model Mustang with optional cruise control is the bare-bones base model V6 Mustang. All GT's since 1999 have it standard.

Someone swapped the wheel. Is it leather wrapped?

I did some searching here and found out whats up. Cruise Control was in a package called the "Convenience Group".

So the car doesnt have, nor did it ever have.

So Everyone? We just give up building Cruise Control because it wasn't built with it? Or do we have a thread for this install already?

I thought only the 94-98 GT's had the limiter with the lower performance tires.

I would check out a car with it to see if you could just junkyard for the parts and plug and play. I would bet that he harness is the same for both ways.

Very old thread, but some 99 and 00 base GT's were available with 16" wheels. Those tires were H rated, and therefor had a limiter on them.
