i have a 99 v6 stanger and i only had the premium sound system (not mach) without the tweeters. i installed a new head unit, and replaced all my speakers, but now i wanted to add tweeters to it. i was going to buy after market ones and put them right where the mach tweeters would go. im gonna get them w/ x-overs, so i dont need to amp them, but does anyone know how i could wire them? could i just run them right off my front speakers??

my opinion

i've never installed them but are you using the head unit amp to power the 4 door speakers? if so i believe i would use a separate amp to run the 4 door speakers and the unit amp to run the tweaters

dude you are all good, as long as you buy the right cross overs you can run them inline with the front speakers and maintain the proper ohm load. Your crossovers should have one input and two outputs. I have done exactly what you are doing, but i think i will just hop onto ebay and buy the mach1 housings to mount tweets in. It would probably look cleaner. When you do get crossovers make sure you dont leave them in the door cavity, they could get wet and short the system. Good luck and let me know if you need help.

tweets in mach460

i just bought the tweeter holders for my stang because i wanted to have the clean stock look too. just so you know, the speaker in the mach tweet kit looks like its about 2'' so youre gonna have to customize a recessed platform for the tweet to sit on so the grille will fit
