I just had my clutch replaced with a stock replacement and they turned the flywheel. Works great but now it engages like an inch or 2 off the floor rather than up further where it has for the last 5 years. Plus there's about an inch or two or slack at the top of the pedal (still springy, but no clutch resistant). The clutch quadrant is all the way at the end, when I move it back it gets worse.

Question: Would an adjustable cable or firewall adjuster let me change this and how hard are they to install? Also should I get the kit with the metal quadrant or just the cable?

On the stock clutch petal there's a rachet adjuster at the very top. You put your foot under the pedal and lift and it's suppose to adjust the petal to the wear of the clutch if it's working correctly. With you having a new clutch the mechanic may have already done this and your not use to the feel or they may not of done it.

I purchased a three piece clutch cable which includes the quadrant, cable and fender wall adjuster. It's a very tight spot to get to the quadrant to change it. Everything else is straight forward. With the kit installed, you can tune in the clutch grab exactly where you want it.
