Adjustable clutch cable too long?

Ok, well i just finished the 5 speed swap (im waitng on a new starter) and i have an adjustable clutch cable. The bolt on the adjusting rod ( that goes on the clutch fork) totally bottomed out and the cluthch pedal is even witht he brake pedal. I can even pull it up and disconnect the cable. So obviously it is too long. My question is, WHY? i can get my hand on a stock one and see if it fits, but do you think it will? o yea, i have an SVO (FRPP) quadrant.

Doesn't sound right. Are you sure you've got it routed right? Either that or the cable is the wrong one.

its routed correctly and the firewall mount and bellhousing mount for the cable are int he right locations

Then either the cable is the wrong one or you'll need to purchase a firewall adjuster to take up the slack as long as it's @ 1" or so...

I had the same problem. A double hook quadrant and a firewall adjuster fixed my problem.
