I did a search but didnt really find what i was looking for. Ok well I thought I had a exhaust leak cause I can smeel fumes in the cab but I took it to a place and they said it was just running really rich. It runs fine, and I can floor it and it doesnt bog at all and it starts up fine. But it does smoke alot. So What I am wondering if how do I adjust it. I have never worked on a carburetor before but I know that there are adjusting screws. Its a 2 barrel 289. So how do I do it? Is there a certain amoun of turns I back the screw out? And how do I know it adjusted properly?
thanks

I know holleys better than anything else, but I think the screws you are referring to are the idle mixture screws. Basically once you put your foot on the throttle it goes to the main metering circuit. I dont know how for did it for the factory style carbs. It will either be replacable "metering jets" or needle seat valves similar to the idle screws. Anyway, figured I would throw in my half cent (dont think that counts as a full 2 cents) and welcome you to the board!
