Want to lower my car a little but I"m having trouble adjusting these things. It took two guys to put these things in (had trouble guiding the strut up in the tower) so I don't want to pull them all the way out, but it looks like thats what you have to do to adjust them. I can put the tool on the adjusting ring and hammer it to get it to spin, but the spring spins with the ring. Is there anything wrong with that? The strut isn't spinning at all so I think it would be OK. I'm sure I'm going to scrape up the threads pretty good.

Once these things are installed, how are you guys adjusting them? It would be nice if these was a washer or bearing on that ring.

to adjust them, just jack up the car, take the wheels off, and turn the SPRING, only use the spanner wrench to unlock the second adjuster, then just turn the spring and it will be smoothly turn, it DOES take a bearing between the two top plates that go on the strut.

There's so much spring tension I can't turn the spring. I have bearings on the top two pieces, but not on the bottom of the spring.

Do your rings look like the gold ones below?
If so, you need to loosen the allen bolt that holds the ring tight. If you have the spanner wrench type, you need to do as stated. Pull the tire off, unload the suspension by jacking under the K member and placing jack stands under the car for safty, then they should turn freely.

Are you jacking the front end up off the ground.

Just out of curriousity, has anyone else noticed a good amount of clunking after they installed them? I notice a lot when going slow at a stop sign or turn with my stree/strip set up and Strange struts.. Just wondering if others do too?

I suppose you could jack the whole front up at once but then again you could do each side, one by one.

This seems like a pain. You have to adjust, then put the tire back on, see what it looks like, and if u dont like it, repeat the process right? Are all coil overs the same?

Arent there some struts that you adjust under the hood at the top of the strut? I know this is seperate from this discussion but just wondering cause i know there are some struts that you have a knob to turn on the body of the strut.

I have never noticed any clunking at all with mine. I was kinda worried about that, but nothing. I know on the rear setup, you have to do some creative bending of the shock housing to clear the spring. No big thing though.

As far as adjusting them, it is kind of a pain. I found that a 6" millimeter ruler works well here. Just measer how much you want the car up or down, and adjust the suspension accordingly with that measurment.

My coil overs have been quiet with all settings on my Strange struts.

I had to remove the top strut nut and let the coil over down to completely unload it, then I could adjust it.

Wow does the front end pop up nice though when struts are set to 1-2. These struts have alot more adjustability then I thought they would after reading posts on here.
