adjusting steering firmness

I just got a 97 f150 4x4 and it steers WAY easier than my mustang, and I can't stand it. It wanders all over the highway and is difficult to drive cuz it steers so easy. Is there anything I can do myself, or anything an alignment shop or somebody could do? I like the frim steering of my '00 GT, the steering wheel never "wanders". Thanks in advance.

My guess is that this is the amount of power assist boost that's making it so easy. Sorry I don't have a better answer or solution.

Your truck has a steering box instead of a rack and pinion like your mustang. I have heard of people actually adjusting the bow inorder to put some play in the steering wheel to cut down on the wandering on crowned or rough roads.
