How do i adjust the tv cable on my 86 to stock settings? someone said undo the clip put it in overdrive than pull it all the way forward? any suggestions?
The correct way to do it is using a pressure gauge to check the line pressure on the tranny. However on mine, I undid the clip with shifter in park and throttle closed then just took the slack out of the cable and reattached. The shifts were too early and soft, meaning low line pressure <very hazardous to the tranny>. I then pulled a little tension on the tv cable and replaced clip. It shifts nice and firm now so I left it there. Everyone says 2 much pressure is way better than 2 little .
one thing the aod's hate is the wrong line pressure. aod's eat it very quickly with almost no warning if the line pressure is severely off. I would personally never adjust the tv without a pressure guage... but thats just me and who the hell am I
