If you aren't using "poly-locks" that could also be a cause for the valves to get out of adjustment. But from what you describe, that doesn't seem to be the case. An occasional noise would seem to indicate some thing else, such as a sticky lifter plunger

Well, if thats the case, how can I fix it. Normally I would guess that changing the oil would help, but I just did. And please don't tell me i would need to replace the lifter
Only way I'd replace it, if it bled down and stayed that way. If it's occasional, leave it be. Or unless the pushrod gets bent from getting loose. If it runs OK, just leave it alone and live with it.
