I've been given an offer I think is really good. A friend of a friend had some financial issues and is selling off his wife's 98 GT convertable. It has 97k original miles, brand new transmission (auto), is in great condition, never in an accident, garage kept, one owner and has only had a couple issues.

The issues are a pin hole leak in the intake manifold, an evap system issue (we think it's a vavle) and old tires.

They are offering $2k for it and it's something I've always wanted. The 4.6 with that burble and the top down seems like motoring nirvana. My friend had the exact same car but a coupe so I have some wrenching experiance on it.

How does this deal sound to mustang guys? What should I look for.

Not a bad price. Dorman makes an intake that fixes the design flaw that's about $250ish at the parts stores.
