ADVICE

I have a 2002 GT, Im currently in Iraq, and will return back beginning of next year, I only have about 10,000, on my car and want to due alot with it, Wife gave the ok, It was weather parts for my car or a new Crouch Rocket, so you know what I plan to due, so far I have only added the K&N air charger kit, and already plan to put 4:10's, but now does the stock muffler come in x or H pipes, so will I have to only install mufflers or do I have to put in a new cat back, also a friend of mine here has nos on his car and claims it better than a supercharger, I just dont know, any suggestions? :flag: :nice:

In stock form the GT has an H pipe, which is just upstream of the catback exhaust. You can swap it out for an aftermarket H or X pipe independently of the catback. As for the catback exhaust you can just replace the mufflers only or the whole catback exhaust, it's really up to you and your budget.

On the NOS vs supercharger issue there are pros and cons to each. If your budget allows for it then I'd personally suggest go for the supercharger, like a KB unit.

sell the stang...save a couple grand and buy a 99+ cobra and throw a smaller pulley on it!

Why would you put a smaller pulley on a 99 cobra?

Anyway do the gears. The catback thing is up to you. To save some bucks just do some weld-ins. For a good mod I would get some cams. Look at the VT stage 1. They make good power and will work great with some gears (4.10) Next maybe a shifter if it is a 5spd. Just read up on the forum and you will be able to figure out what works best for you. Have a safe return home.

i thought smaller pullies on that supercharged cobra produces a lot of HP? or do i have that mixed up w/ something else?

but i bet you could get a good amount of money on an 02 GT w/ 10k...so if you want a faster car go w/ a 99+ cobra w/ the money from the GT plus the good 1-2k on mods you planned to spend...

but if you wanna stick w/ the GT...gears, invest in something to recalibrate the speedomotor, and if you can afford a full exhaust get it...or just get a catback and save to get headers & x or h pipe to put on. OR be crazy and buy a supercharger...

I'm guessing you got $10k to spend right, or its got 10,000 miles? i'm a little confused, heh.

Anyhoo this is what i would do with $10k on my GT. Lower it, Supercharge it,
upgrade my exhaust, get it tuned and call it good.

Supercharging it will give ya the power all the time, Nitrous will do the same, but you will need to fill up the bottle all the time. Just my 2 cents

Make it home safe bro. My buddy just got back, but he was hurt pretty bad when the hummer he was riding in ran over a land mine. :(

yeah the supercharged cobra came out in 03 and the pulleys youre talking about on those cars are to increase the boost from the supercharger. the 99+ cobra had 320hp but no supercharger. Personally if I were you I would probably get a crotch rocket(the new cbr 1000rr's are SWEET  ) but that would set you back 10grand and is just a bit dangerous :D . I would recomend a supercharger(KB or novi 2000, about $4k). Shifter if you have a stick($150), catback(350), x pipe(200-400), long tube headers(400+ a lot for the install), pulleys(150) if you decide to not get a supercharger, suspension work(springs-200, caster camber plates-150), rear control arms(400), gears(400 installed), tb+plenum(350), maf(300), cams if your budget allows, and a professional dyno tune after you get everything done. Of course all of this will cost you about 8 thousand not including cams, call it a wish list :nice:
