Hey all,

I have an aeromotive fuel system. We installed a relay for the fuel pump but it does not shut off. Is the pump supposed to shut off or is it supposed to keep running? When I start the car its loud at first then you cant hear it but its still on...is it doing what its made to do?

Thanks in advance,.

Wire the aeromotive pump up to the same pink/black power feed the stock pump used and ditch the wiring & relay you added. The pink /black wire is the last wiring connector before the intank pump. Here's the link to wiring diagrams for 88-93 stangs...http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiB..._us/0900823d/80/19/59/5a/0900823d8019595a.jsp

If you do it the way he says, you will use the old fuel pump relay that is already there.

Which pump do you have? Do you have the controller also?

Wiring the aeromotive pump to the old wiring works good if you aren't going to use an intank pump. All the controls are used along with the safety features.

If you are using an intank pump, then connect the pink/black wire to the one side of the relay coil, Then connect the other side of the relay coil to ground. Run a very short 12 gauge wire from the battery to a 20 amp fuse, then from the fuse to the relay contacts. From the relay contacts, run the 12 gauge wire to the pump and from the pump to ground. Watch out for the + & - on the pump. The - goes to ground & the + goes to power.

Ok, I have to look it up and see what pump I have exactly...but its not an in tank.

The way I have it wired up right now the pump runs ALL THE TIME. It whines like a 5 year old kid that wants a toy and mom says no...lol.

Seriously its loud and constant. Is it supposed to do this? Just curious,...if it does then so be it. BUT if it doesnt I want a fix cause its kind of annoying.

It'll run full capacity all the time as long as the ignition switch is on. The only way around that is to install the Fuel Pump Contoller with it. The pump will still run all the time, but it shouldn't be as loud at lower rpms. Here it is at Summit: AEI-16302
