I have a 88 coupe with GT40 iron heads with FMS 1.6 roller rockers,FMS F-cam, and a holley 700 CFM DP. I am looking to get a set of AFR's and my question is which ones would be the best for my setup. If you guys have any ideas let me know. Thanks, Dan

Stock bottom end? 165s unless you want to tear it all down and notch the pistons.

165 will work fine get the ones with 58cc chambers so it raises your comp ratio.

Get the 165cc heads if it's mostly a daily driver, 185cc if you mostly race it.

Since it is carb'd, the engine will like a little more vacuum, and with the 185cc heads the intake velocity speed with drop hurting low speed driveability with the 185cc heads. The drop in velocity with a carb will not allow great fuel atomization, which hurts idle too.

Unless you are planning a 331 or 347, Go with the 165's. Your engine wont be able to take full advantage of the 185's flow capabilities. And you will probably lose power. Get the 58cc chambers also.

Good info here. I just bought the 185's and they are going on the current 302, but a 347 is in the planning stages. I have the piston notching tool on order also.

Gonna give it a shot.
