I have a 347 with AFR 185 pedestal mount (stock afr springs). I want to go an adjustable 1.6 roller rocker but I dont know what my options are. I understand that Crane makes a conversion kit. Will this work with my AFR's? Also, what rocker should I go with?

why do you want to change over? and to answer your question there are conversion kits to make your heads stud mounted, I am not sure what company though I think summit sells something, I seen a kit in their mag before.

The main reason why I want to switch over is so I can have adjustable rockers. I was under the assumption that I had to go stud mount to do this. Do they make adjustable rockers that are pedestal?

You want to look to Steeda. They have a ped mount adjustable 1.6:1 roller rocker system that, IMO, is better than stud mount rockers. It's a shaft mount system and it's priced at only $349.95.

The Crane system uses powdered metel pedestal conversion stands. And they are garbage on anything with real lift or spring pressures.

Mmmmm....beefy......... :D

At only $350? hehe.. I may do that but its rather pricey for me at the moment. I suppose if I were to convert to stud mount I would end up having just as much into it.

The Comp Cams kit for ped mount heads at Summit is the same price. And Crane has 2 kits to choose from. The '93-95 Cobra roller rocker kit for like $200 or the Gold Race roller rockers for $325. But they both use the powdered metal adapters from what I can tell on thier website. I've cracked 3 of those garbage adapters on my B303 cammed stock head car. And it doesn't matter how carefull I am about torqueing to spec either.

I bought a set of 16 adapters and anytime the valve cover is off, I inspect the mounts and replace as needed.

EDIT: I just noticed you signiture. Don't waste your time with the crane stuff. If I had what you have, I couldn't justify saving $25-$100 on cheaper roller rockers after investing the cash like you have for your setup. Comp Cams maybe, Steeda definitly. Any pics of your car?

I have some pics around here somewhere. At the moment my engine is out of the car because I blew out a pushrod last year at the track. I was using a stock set and the ball blew off. After that I was told that AFR recommends hardened pushrods. I ended up parking it over winter and since I have had to replace the oil pump, turn crank, new bearings. Here are some pics of the engine though.
