AFR 185's on a 306

Well finally got an afterschool job to help feed my adiction. Next couple of projects include Megasquirt fuel injection for my 65' and new heads to replace my GT-40p's. In another year, I could see myself moving up to a 347. I would like to know what yall thank about going ahead and getting the AFR 185's. I know these are a lil lage for the 306 but are they too big? Other vitals include Edelbrock RMP intake (carb style), F303 cam (226/226--544/544), T-5, and 3.89 rear. As always, any HP guestimates?

Not too large at all for a 306, they're perfect for a 306. They'll work good on a 347 as well.

really? In that case I'd like to hear opinions on the Victor Jr's as well. They flow a little more and cost a little less. However I am concerned THEY are loo large with a 210cc port volume

Do a search it has tons of post about this exact subject but the vr junoirs will be a bit overkill.

I've been searching for the past 2 days. I thought the vics would be too much. Whats crazy is the flow-to-port volume of these two heads. AFR 277cfm/185cc And Vics @ 288cfm/210cc.

How serious are you about a 347? If you are serious, i'd hold off and do the vic jr's. I've seen vic jr's do 466rwhp on a n/a pump gas 347 by a guy on corral.net. The 185's would do fine on a 347 as well, but i'd do the vic jr's as i've seen them make more power for less money.

The Vic Jr's will make good power . . . but at a cost of low rpm torque. I personally think the 185's will be your best bet.
