AFR 205's on 351w based motors

seeing if anyone has had any problems with their exhaust with AFR 205 headed 351w based motors. It says the exhaust ports were raised .125" from stock location, just seeing if that was enough to throw the exhaust (headers) way off. thanks.

A lot of people have the 205's. You should mathc your setup though. Are you planningto use your existing headers? What headers do you have? I personally have the 185's due to costs and personal preferance.

I just don't see how raising the exhaust ports a mere 1/8" can cause any problems.

I'm running AFR 205's with Hedman 351w swap headers.
The 302 headers will work also but not with a cable clutch.

Specialty header manufacturers, such as Accufab, will ask you if your ports are raised. Same price.

I'm running AFR 225's and the only issue is it takes a special header gasket because of the bigger port size. The header placement is not an issue for my 68.

My super comps touch the floor pan on the pass side, could be due to the raised port. I plan on grinding a little notch and it should clear no problem...

interesting. sounds like i shouldnt run into too many problems then. what heads do you have, 205's or 225's? I know the 225's are raised a little higher still than the 205's.

You mean the header placement WASN'T an issue ?

Yes....header placement was not an issue although I have custom made long tube 1.75" headers. I would think smaller tubes would have even more clearance.
