AFR heads 185s question

Hey Guys will the 185ss AFR heads be good for my setup.. I have a chance to buy these for cheap or for cheap labor.. Thanks let me know asap so I won't loose a good deal.

Since you are boosting it i would say the heads will be a great addition to your setup and go for it afr ftw

Thanks I would love to hear what others say also.. I was close to purchasing other heads but i happen to buy a PMS and had no more funds but now that I found those heads i was just wondering if thwy would be great.. It great timing bacause I have my engine out now..Thanks Turbo gt

Go for it, you will have tons more horsepower with the 185's instead of those ported E7's. The rest of your combo is built up, why not complete it with some nice aluminum heads.

Do you have stock pistons? If so, you are going to have to notch them. The 185's won't clear. Still a great head and I would jump on it if I were you.

get them, even if you dont use them you can probably flip them for a profit

i run a set of diamond dished pistons. with the dish they were good to go. you will most likely have to cut yours

Anderson used to cut them right in the car!!!, but i wouldn't recomend that

i went from thumper e7s (which were great) and B-cam on my blown combo to a set of box stock TW heads (not as good as AFR 185s) and an F-cam and the car picked up a whole lot. i was suprised at how much i picked up from the head swap.

so i say do it.

I thought it would be just an ez take out put in of the heads didn't think I needded to notch my pistons. How would I do that? can someone or shop do it or would I have to buy/rent a tool for that.
