Here is what brought the car down for the count...
Stock motor, 11psi, Top of 5th gear, around 5500rpm. It was pulling like a freight train hard up there. Fuel mods were Fore Hat with Twin Ford GT pumps, Stage 1 FPDM and -8 line to the rail

Holy crap nice carnage!!! Not suprised a stock engine let go near redline in 5th gear though... you really had to be moving.

And even nicer replacement engine...:jaw:

Your car looks great, I bet it feels awesome to have it back on the road.

It wasn't bad at all. It felt stable, I don't have a drag setup supension, so it handles all right up there. Straight and true. Won't ever do it again. I will say, it didn't take that long at all. Once the boost came on in 5th gear, it pulled really hard though 145-160, then boom. Worst of all, I slowed down and keept driving till the next exit a few miles down. I knew what happened. So I didn't care. It just idled funny. Running on 7 cylinders an all.

you probably killed some wildlife w/ 5 quarts of oil evenly spread over a few mile span lol. :dead:

I just know the only time I really got up to high speed (before the new engine and tranny) it vibrated like a mother. Not like from the wheels, but like the transmission wasn't enjoying 130mph.

I don't enjoy top speed at all in this car honestly...not even a little. OK a little, but I just worry that something will happen just like that.

I can't imagine having an engine let go at the top of 5th like that. Throwing water and oil down infront of your rear tires is definately a great way to get going the wrong way at high speeds. You are lucky to still have your car and your life. I've seen several people loose head gaskets at the top end of the track, running around 110-120mph and they get sideways. One put his beautiful car in the wall and got knocked around pretty hard. Just imagine if that happen at 160 with no safety walls.

The new engine is beautiful.

The fastest I've gone in the last few years is 6k in 3rd (C4) at the track. That was good for 111mph plus running it out the back door.

I will never ever do it again. I know the car can do it. I know my nerves can do it. Pocket book can't do it. There was a nice slimy mixture of coolant and oil all over the underside. It took a few washes to get it all off.

I am running new stock heads for now. Just not enough in the budget to get some real good heads. I will say the new heads had like 9 spark plug threads. Old heads had about 4.

The car felt the same at 160 as it does at 110. My buddy was jealous that he didn't get to be in the car.
