My 289 1967 coupe starts sputtering and acts like its running out of fuel. When the tanks full its runs like a top, but at 2/3s it runs like crap. I put a new CJ pony parts fuel tank and sending unit on it and a new gas cap.... not sure whats going on. Im running an edelbrock carb if that helps...

the suction tube may be bent slightly on the sending unit or the sending unit may be adjusted wrong and it is running out of fuel .

The suction tube is just as it was sent to me from CJ pony parts. since theres a clocking pin you can't miss install the sending unit in the tank. Could the tank be under a vacuum?

That is possible .When you remove the fuel cap does it blow air .
Reproduction parts can be way off sometimes ,the tube could be bent wrong .
