After installing heads cam rockers ruff idle

After installing afr 165 heads f303 cam 1.60 rockers ruff idle

My friend installed a set or afr 165 heads and a f303 cam and 1.6 roller rockers on my 1988 5.0 L. We can get to run very well and kinda hard to start. When it turn over it has a ruff idle and seems to have no power.

IS it vacuum leak ,timing, rockers to tight. I'm kinda lost and not sure what to double check anymore.

We have the timing dead center when piston # 1 is all the way up it seem to be hiting # 1 plug.
Fuel pressure is ok. doesnt seem to be running rich no black smoke.

We also tried move the Distributor one tooth each way. nothing changed

One thing we did notice was the after we losened some rockers it seem to idle a bit better by then it was to late and dark so we had to stop.

I hope all of this makes sense because im new to the motor world.

i would love some advice from some pros and maybe a bit info on setting rockers

First of all is your car mass air or speed density? The set up might be to dramatic for your computer to handle. Also check on the internet for the proper roller rocker adj. procedure. Hope that helped...

Yes i have mass air with AL9 cpu and 24 pd injecters

What rocker arm mounts are the heads using? Pedistal or Stud? What tightening seq./proceedure did you use on the rocker arms? Do you have the MAF sensor calibrated for the 24lb. injectors?
