My hood flew up and smashed on my windshield and cracked does anyone know if they will replace it with the same style hood or only with a stock one?

Who's they? Is the insurance covering it? Why dont you talk to the body shop that is fixing it, the insurance will just be paying them, see how much the insurance is paying for and see what you can afford. If you want an aftermarket hood, and your insurance covers it, tell them to pay for a new aftermarket hood. If their only giving you a certain amount, see what you can get and maybe throw down some money for a better hood. This is your car, this is the kind of work you should do to make sure it gets taken care of by other people. Because if not their just going to stick a stock hood on there, or maybe the insurance even pays the bodyshop for an aftermarket, but the bodyshop just pockets the extra and picks up a hood at a junkyard. Thats what I would do if I saw someone clueless walk into my shop.

If it's aftermarket would they even have to? Hood pins, Hood pins, Hood pins......some people might not like the look but I've heard of this horror story way too many times. I hope that your insurance will cover it but I find that a bit doubtful. Good luck.

oh haha hmm, still, we dont know what you pay your insurance to do. I would think insurance would pay for something like that, but wouldnt your rates go up? You may be better fixing it yourself and beating yourself later for not getting hood pins.

Thats how I just got my Mach 1 Hood. My stock one flipped up and cracked my windshield too. I told the insurance company I wanted to bring it to a different shop than the ones they told me to bring it to. They sent an apraiser out to the house, figured the damages then just cut me a check. If you dont have agreed upon value coverage they will more than likely write off the car. They wont give it a salvage title but they will figure out the value, subtract the deductable, tax, and buy back value and give you the difference. They probally wont give you full coverage anymore. This is what happened to me two weeks ago. Good luck.

this is why you get a liftoff hood, when it flies off, it hits nothing but the ground lol.
