I bought a new rad fan from NAPA for my 03 GT. The stock fan is a 2-speed, with two plugs. The second plug connects to a sensor that also connects to the A/C wiring, and when the A/C is turned on, the fan goes into high speed.

The new fan has only the one plug for the fan motor. It does not have the heat sensor, nor does it have the place to mount that sensor. I checked every parts place around here over the last couple days and they all say that this part number is the only one available for the V8 Mustangs. It will bolt into place perfectly and the one plug is the right plug for the motor's wiring harness.

My question is, will this even work in our cars? I cannot believe that if it's the wrong fan that no one would have noticed by now. The local parts places have the V6 fan in stock but the V8 fan is harder to find because when they get them, people ****** them up faster. So if this fan didnt work, I would think someone knew it by now. Has anyone bought one of these and did it work?

I've been doing some fan research lately also..

The quick and easy thing would be get another Mustang motor.

Why are you replacing it in the first place?

Not sure what you mean, because this is a Mustang fan motor--well, it's actually the whole assembly.

I am replacing it because the old fan motor burned out. But I did find something, the part number is actually for a Dorman fan--it comes back to a 1997-1998 V6 Mustang. NAPA's nationwide computer system claims that this is the right fan for a 1999-2004 GT. Thanks, NAPA, for really screwing up my day.....I took off time from work for this crap. Last time I ever get parts from those morons. And the thing is, I spoke to the same guy a few times in two days to make sure he didnt order me the V6 fan because I knew it wasnt the right one. I bet that having two different part numbers on the same part doesnt make for too many happy customers.
