Lol - Don't try to convince him - he argued with me in another thread about Griggs being based on a fox body suspension - when I proved him wrong, he stopped posting

However, I do somewhat agree with him here - in the stock configuration, the show towers add some structural strength mainly because the shock mount is at the top of them. The fact that the MII setup has different mounting points make it less reliant on the shock towers. Two other points to make - strut tower braces are used because even WITH them, they flex - and remember, all unibody cars flex when getting jacked up/lifted - you can see the gaps on the doors change 1/8" in many cases.

listen up, Reen had already done the MII swap when he started posting otherwise i would have disagreed with him too. if you were to ask him now chances are pretty good he'd say he would recommend something else, then again he may not. either way, i don't really care what you do to your car all i am trying to do is get everyone to do a little more research before they decide on a MII suspension, especially if they ask for an opinion. if you don't like the advice you are given then quit asking the f***ing question.

as for stangonline he's on my ignore list because he's an *******. the information i was giving about the griggs setup came straight from his favorite place to quote, the corner-carvers forum. in fact it came straight from Preston at CC.com. don't believe me? do a search for griggs gr40 and preston's user name and have a look for yourself. for the record i have never said that the griggs setup isn't a good one it's just not the be all end all setup that everyone seems to think it is, especially for the money. for about the same money you can get an art morrison max-g chassis with c5 corvette suspenion components. given the choice i'd go with art morrison full frame max g chassis anyday or i'd build something like what Preston built.

and don't start thinking that some punk ass high school kid is going to "put me in my place" kid. i've got more car building experience than you'll probably ever have and i've probably owned more cars than you ever will to. i've also been a crew chief and the entire pit crew for a buddies dirt track car and several other friends drag cars. i don't brag about it on the board i just try to give advice when people ask for it and then some smart ass punks like you and stangonline think you know it all and i guess get your kicks trying to put other people down. go home to daddy and shut the **** up!!!!

That stuff looks sweet - Bet shipping to the Mother Country will be a killer - I've asked 'em for a quote.

Then show your experience, not your IGNORANCE. I posted a QUOTE from BRUCE GRIGGS - DIRECTLY addressing your INCORRECT opinions. You were wrong and your not man enough to admit it. At this point, I think most "kids" could put you "in your place". The more threads I see you interact with, the more ignorant and hard-headed you seem. Still you insist that you are correct...so sad. "Have a nice day!" <--read between the lines.

Man, have you seen the price-tag on that? For that price, I would probably get the TCP setup AND the power rack and pinion. I like the brake selection though.

Maybe copy was the incorrect word to use. I'll say it was "modeled after" the TCP suspension system that was originally available on their vehicles. Within the last two years TCP/Chassisworks has made changes to the pivot assemblies and overall construction of the lower arm and strut rod as well as correcting the pivot location of the strut rod compared to our previous design.

Last I knew, UP was making their own parts based on TCP because TCP was going down the tubes. I haven't kept upwith it, so I am just now learning (from you) that TCP is alive again and updating their parts. Thats great news! It's always nice to have choices.

Yes, TCP just sent me a catalog a few days ago. It seems that their problems are behind them now. I will do my rack first. Question: Has anyone here used their MANUAL rack and pinion setup ? From TCP ?

Show your experience! Why bash people about something you dont agree with, and post a negative opinion? there may be good about what that person wants, and you just go ahead and post a negative opinion saying why you SHOULD not get it, not why you SHOULD!

and shut the **** up? hey, im even more mature than you to not even swear in my posts! You're years older than me, and you swear to a kid in your posts......boy, thats showing your better than me.

i have ridden in a 68 coupe that had a MII conversion kit, don't think it was a heidts kit though, and it had cowl shudder as bad as any unibody convertible i have ever ridden in. the thin sheetmetal frame rails on a vintage mustang were never designed to hold up the entire structure of the car on their own and have a tendancy to flex when you a hit a bump or cross a railroad track. furthermore with the car on a lift you could see the gaps widening as the lift went up. this kit was also professionally installed.

The problem with most of these swaps is they put a huge motor in the front of the car so they usually handle like a heavy nosed big block. I've installed them, I understand the geometry and I simply disagree. No harm meant and I respect your opinion.

One more comment. It's a usless waist of time to argue a mute point. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. IMO the maturity in which you handle opposition is where we gain or loose respect for one another. So let's all just be respectful and share our experiences on a friendly level.

I agree with mdjay....we should stop arguing and just give helpful advice....everybody is entitled to a opinion and we should all respect that.
